Grannie

I cast on for the Grannie Smith Cardigan a while ago. Things have been going slow. I took a few weeks off and that just seems to be the way I knit. Its a really fun lace pattern so far, though I opted to leave off the decorative picot edging and replace it with ribbing. I know some people think thats the best part of the sweater, but I guess I am just lazy! Here is progress of the back. I contemplated knitting the whole thing in one piece but thats an undertaking for me right now. Especially since I have to use my metal straight needles. The wood I was using with Kidsilk just stuck and was so aggravating.

Its finally fall in my backyard. Our trees took forever!

Monkey Socks!

I finished up the Monkey socks yesterday. They are so comfy and awesome. What I really like is the stretchiness of the pattern. I think mine ended up a lot longer than the originals, but I like them that way. Doing socks from the toe up is awesome cuz you can use up all your yarn! Plus doing 2 at one time keeps you from dreading starting the 2nd sock! Yay.

Monkey Progress

Man, those Monkey socks are fast and fun, I must say. I am not so sure about the gauge though, I may need to go down a needle size. Since these are my first toe-ups, I won't mind ripping them out so much. I can use the practice.
